About Martha R. Lang
Martha R. Lang spends her summers on the Cape, her winters in Vermont, and it's there that she paints, writes children's books, young adult stories, nonfiction and poetry.
Paintings
Martha R. Lang is a contemporary artist who works in oil, water color, pastel, ink and paper, copper point etching, and graphite on paper. Her passion for living is apparent in her use of bold, brilliant colors and lose brush work. Her subject matter includes landscapes, seascapes, still life, portrait, and abstract. Her love of nature, the mountains, and the sea inspire her work. Her work is influenced by her interest in the out of doors. Martha was accepted into the Copley Society. Her paintings have been in galleries in Boston, Montreal, Provincetown, and Stowe.
Martha owns and manages her real estate in Burlington, Vermont. Previous to this she lived in New York City where she got a Ph.D. from Columbia University and taught at colleges and ran a health care consulting company on Wall Street.
Books and Stories
Martha’s love of the written work is expressed by the dozens of books she has published. She has written children’s picture and chapter books, young adult Cape Cod mysteries, an adult thriller, several poetry books, and memoirs. Martha has also had dozens of New England and Cape Cod historical memoirs published in national and international newspapers and magazines. She is currently completing a murder mystery series that includes Murder at the Convent, Murder in the Square, Murder in the Village, and Murder by the Bay.
